Some of the Internet pages use “cookies.” Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain any viruses. They serve to make our website more user-friendly, effective, and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.
Most of the cookies we use are “session cookies.” They are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your computer until you delete them. These cookies allow us to recognize your browser the next time you visit.
You can adjust your browser settings so that you are informed about cookie settings and only allow cookies in individual cases. You can also decline cookies in certain cases or generally and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. When cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this site may be restricted.
Cookies, which are required to carry out the electronic communication process or to provide certain functions requested by you (e.g. shopping cart function), are stored pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the storage of cookies for the technical, error-free, and optimized delivery of the related services. Insofar as other cookies are stored (e.g. cookies for the analysis of your surfing behavior), they are treated separately in this data privacy statement.
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in server log files, which your browser automatically sends to us. These are:
This data is not compiled together with other data sources.
The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the fulfilment of a contract or pre-contractual measures. The data is only stored for a period of 24 hours. All log files created by our systems are then automatically deleted.
You can register on our website to use our additional features. We only use the data entered for the purpose of the application of the respective offer or service for which you have registered. The mandatory information requested during registration must be provided in full. Otherwise, we will cancel the registration.
For system-related messages, such as the sending of login links, important changes, for instance, to our services or technically necessary changes, we inform you using the e-mail address you provided during registration. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR.
We store the data collected during the registration for as long as you are registered on our website and then subsequently deleted. Legal retention periods remain unaffected.
To delete your account, simply send an informal email with the subject "delete account" to picsome@wikimedia.de. The legality of the data processing already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.
This web application uses Usersnap, a user feedback solution provided by Usersnap GmbH, Industriezeile 35, 4020 Linz, ("Usersnap") on our behalf, by integrating Usersnap's web snippet. When using the user feedback solution, information about your use of our web application is transmitted to Usersnap. This is the following information:
Usersnap uses the automatically collected information to add contextual information to manually submitted feedback from users, to analyze feedback items, and to create reports in Usersnap's dashboard.
Personal data obtained through Usersnap as part of the collection of comments and feedback will be deleted after a maximum of 2 years.
The legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the documentation and tracking of feedback.
If you wish, we can conduct interviews with you by arrangement, in which you can describe your experiences with our offers and services. These interviews will be conducted online in the technical manner we agreed upon in the preliminary correspondence (e.g. via Big Blue Button, Google Hangouts, etc.). We may take written notes during this process, which we anonymize after a period of one month. If you have expressly consented beforehand, we also record the interview.
If you have consented to the recording of the interview, a transcription will be made within four weeks. The recording itself is deleted immediately after transcription and all references to persons are removed from it. If we would like to keep the recording longer, we will coordinate this with you in advance in each individual case. We will store and archive the anonymized transcriptions and our notes for the long term.
The use of the interviews for improvement and optimization purposes represents the legitimate interest in the data processing taking place for these purposes. The legal basis is therefore Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) DSGVO.
The legal basis for the creation and processing of the video files is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the documentation and archiving of the interviews.
NewsletterThere are several ways in which you can register for one of our newsletters. In this case, we use your e-mail address to send you information about current topics and our work. The legal basis for the processing is your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR). You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future, e.g. by sending an e-mail to news@wikimedia.de or by clicking on an unsubscribe link in one of the e-mails sent to you. The revocation shall not affect the lawfulness of the processing operations carried out on the basis of the consent up to the time of the revocation.
We also analyze your use of our newsletter, e.g. the link or button you clicked. This serves to improve our offers.
The processing for these purposes is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR, whereby our legitimate interest lies in the aforementioned purposes. If you do not agree with the analysis, you can object at any time by unsubscribing the e-mails.
This website uses the open source web analysis service Matomo. We use Matomo in a variant with cookies and a variant without cookies. Both variants collect certain information from you in order to optimize and improve our website. We also use the „event tracking“ and “custom dimensions” function, which analyses interactions with elements of the website and thus provides us with particularly useful information on the use of the site. For this purpose, the information generated by the cookie about the use of this website is collected and stored on our server. We configured Matomo to automatically anonymise data so you don’t process any personal data. The IP address is shortened before storage so that it is not possible to draw any conclusions about you as a person from the start. Optional cookies are only set with your consent, which you can give us via our cookie management. You can also revoke your consent there at any time. The storage period of the cookies is 30 minutes or 13 months. Matomo is operated on our own servers, and the information about the use of this website is not passed on to third parties in any other way.
The processing under the variant without cookies takes place without your consent due to our legitimate interest in the aforementioned purposes (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR). Of course, you can declare your objection here by clicking on the following link. You may choose to prevent this website from aggregating and analyzing the actions you take here. Doing so will protect your privacy, but will also prevent the owner from learning from your actions and creating a better user experience for you and others.
The departments within Wikimedia that are responsible for processing your requests have access to your data. In addition, we employ external service providers to the extent that we are unable to provide services ourselves or are unable to do so effectively. These external service providers are primarily providers of IT services and telecommunications services. Where the legal requirements are met, we have concluded order processing agreements with these service providers.
In general, transfers to third countries do not take place. We do, however, use the Google Workspace service of Google LLC („Google“), 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA for our operations. An adequate level of data protection is ensured by the standard contractual clauses.
We have concluded a contract with our service provider in which we require them to protect our customers‘ data and to not to pass it on to third parties.
